Privacy is our priority. We understand you may be sharing sensitive information and we take that responsibility seriously.
Your data is stored securely encrypted on our servers, and we operate with strict policies protecting your data privacy. If you have opted into sharing your conversation transcripts, no voice data is stored. Conversation text is scrubbed for all personal information and then used exclusively to make Stella better. Your emotional wellness journey helps Stella understand and improve for other people who go through similar challenges to you.
Because we're in the early stages, these terms might change slightly over time. You can always find the most recent copy of these terms on this page. And while the details might change, our commitment to your privacy never will.
StellaLabs, LLC Privacy Policy
StellaLabs, LLC ("StellaLabs," "we," or "us") provides certain websites, platforms, applications and related online services (collectively referred to herein as the "Platform") to each Platform user ("User" or "you"). This Privacy Policy explains the types of information we may collect through the Platform, how we use and disclose such information and our purposes for doing so. It also describes how we protect Personal Information and your choices with regard to your Personal Information.
To the extent you use the Platform, this Privacy Policy will apply to you, so please review it carefully.
1. Information We Collect
As described in further detail below, we may collect both Personal Information (i.e., information that identifies you or other individuals) and Non-Personal Information (i.e., information that does not identify you or any other individual, directly or indirectly).
We may collect the following types of Personal Information:
- Account Information. We may collect full names of Users and email address when they provide it to us in the course of using the Platform. For example, we may collect a User's full name and email address when that User establishes an account on the Platform or when the User provides it to us in connection with sending us an inquiry or other communication.
- Contact Information. We may collect Users' contact information, including without limitation, email addresses, postal addresses and phone numbers, when they establish an account on the Platform or when they provide such information to us in connection with sending us an inquiry or other communication.
- Online Identifiers. We may collect Users' online identifiers, such as their Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, automatically as they use the Platform.
- Conversation Data. In order to provide services on our Platform, we collect your information included within a conversation in which the User engages using our online tools or services ("Conversation Data"). In the Platform settings you also have the choice to make Conversation Data (including all Personal Information contained therein) available to our team to make Stella better. If you have opted into sharing your conversation transcripts, no voice data is stored. Conversation text is scrubbed for all personal information and then used exclusively to improve Stella.
- Platform Usage Data. We may collect data regarding the ways in which our Users use the Platform, such as pages visited, amount of time spent on pages, features used, number of Platform sessions, and the start and end time of such sessions.
- Geolocation Data. We may collect geolocation data which generally identifies the area (but not the specific location) of the device used to access the Platform.
- Device Type. We may collect information about the type of device that is used to access the Platform.
2. How We Use and Disclose Information
We may use and disclose Personal Information as described below:
- We may use our Users' names and contact information to operate and provide our Platform, including without limitation, to provide specific Platform services, to enable our Users to establish and maintain accounts on the Platform and to communicate with Users.
- We may disclose Users' names and contact information to our service providers and affiliates that assist us or otherwise work with us to support our business functions, including the provision of our Platform.
- We may use Conversation and Platform Data to improve the Platform (e.g., for model training to optimize the tools and/or features included within our Platform) and for research purposes in collaboration with academic or research institutions to understand and improve the service for users who opt in to the use of their data.
- We may use any of the Personal Information described in this Privacy Policy as needed to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, subpoena or governmental request.
3. Data Security
We implement information security measures designed to maintain the security and integrity of the Personal Information that we collect and maintain. Examples of security measures that we use include, but are not limited to:
- Data encryption
- Use of multi-factor authentication by our employees
- Password protection and management
- Role-based access control for our employees who access Personal Information
Your Conversation Data is stored securely with full encryption on our servers. Our encryption protocols ensure that team members across engineering, product, and customer service cannot access your conversation data under any normal operational circumstances.
We regularly assess the effectiveness of our data security measures and may modify such measures, as appropriate, to adequately protect information that we collect and maintain. Despite the security measures we implement, there are inherent risks in transmission of information over the Internet and therefore we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access to or use of information will never occur.
4. Third-Party Services
We work with third-party service providers and disclose Personal Information to those providers so that they may assist us with certain activities. These include:
- Google Cloud: Cloud infrastructure and data storage
- Hume AI: Voice processing and emotional intelligence
- Analytics providers: To understand Platform usage and improve our services
We carefully evaluate the information privacy and security practices of those providers prior to engaging them and select only those providers that we reasonably determine are able to adequately protect Personal Information.
5. Children Under 13
Our Platform is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of 13. If you become aware that we have collected Personal Information from a child under the age of 13, please contact us at legal@stellalabs.ai so that we may seek to delete such Personal Information.
6. Retention of Personal Information
We may retain Personal Information until the purposes of using and disclosing such information described in this Privacy Policy have been fulfilled, in each case as permitted under applicable laws and regulations. For example, we retain your Conversation Data as long as you remain an active user. However, you may, at any time, request that we delete your Personal Information as specified in the section below titled "Your Choices Regarding Personal Information".
7. Your Choices Regarding Personal Information
Subject to data protection laws, you may have certain rights with respect to your Personal Information, including:
- The right to request a copy of the Personal Information which we hold about you
- The right to request that we correct any Personal Information if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date
- The right to request your Personal Information is erased where it is no longer necessary to retain such data
- The right to withdraw your consent to the processing at any time, where consent was the lawful basis for processing
- The right to request that we provide you with your Personal Information and where possible, to transmit that data directly to another data controller (known as the right to data portability)
- The right to object to our processing of Personal Information where applicable

8. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

9. International Data Transfers
In connection with providing our Platform, we may transfer information (Personal Information) internationally from the country in which you access the Platform to other countries around the globe, as permitted by applicable laws. We may transfer such information to a country that does not have the same privacy or data protection laws as the country in which such information was collected. Accordingly, such information may be subject to different legal protections depending on the laws and regulations of the country to which the information is transferred.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time without any prior notice to you. We may notify you of the updated Privacy Policy by any reasonable means, including by posting the revised Privacy Policy to the Platform. The updated Privacy Policy will apply to your use of the Platform after the date on which we have posted the updated Privacy Policy or otherwise notified you of those changes. By continuing to use or access the Platform after we post or otherwise notify you of any change, you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
Slack Integration Data Handling
The following sections apply specifically to Stella's Slack integration. Last Updated: February 11, 2026.
What Data We Collect from Slack
When you use Stella in Slack, we collect:
- User Identification Data: Slack user ID, workspace ID, display name, timezone
- Conversation Data: Direct messages to Stella, voice recordings from
/stella talk, slash command usage, check-in responses - Usage Analytics: Session frequency, features used, response interactions
- Workspace Configuration: Installation date, subscription status
What We Do NOT Collect: Messages in channels where Stella is not present, messages between other users, files (unless explicitly shared with Stella), screen activity.
How Slack Data Is Used
- AI Processing: Your messages are processed by Claude (Anthropic) to generate personalized responses and identify anxiety patterns
- Pattern Tracking: Conversation history analyzed to identify trends and provide insights in your Home Tab
- Service Improvement: Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us improve Stella's features
Important Commitment:
We do NOT train AI models on your Slack messages. We do NOT use your data for any purpose other than providing you with personalized anxiety support. Your conversations stay yours.
Slack Data Retention
While you're a subscriber:
- Conversation history: Retained indefinitely for continuity
- Voice recordings: Transcribed to text, original audio deleted within 30 days
- Usage analytics: Retained for 24 months
After cancellation:
- Data saved for 30 days (in case you reactivate)
- After 30 days, all conversation history permanently deleted
- If you request immediate deletion, we comply within 48 hours
How to Delete Your Slack Data
Option 1: Type /stella delete-data in Slack (permanent deletion within 48 hours)
Option 2: Email morty@stellalabs.ai with subject "Delete My Data" and your workspace name
Third-Party AI Processing
Stella uses Claude by Anthropic for AI responses. Anthropic does NOT train models on customer data sent via API. API requests are retained for 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deleted. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy for details.
